Doug

In 2007 Dieux Blancs moved from Sydney to Melbourne for six months. When we first arrived in Melbourne the stress of Stella leaving her home and best mate, Ronan the Irish Wolf Hound, took it's toll. Stella was lonely so we decided to get her a new buddy. We were after a small dog but wanted a big dog attitude. The choice, simple, we needed a Pug Dog.

After a few weeks of searching we arrived at the home of Dale and Karen Taylor, Charharra Kennels. The Taylors personified everything that we thought was important in dog breeding and we quickly decided that we needed one of their Pugs.

Whilst initially we were after a puppy, we decided that an older pug would be more suitalbe as a friend for Stella.  I asked the Taylors if they had any older dogs for sale and they said they may have a boy available soon.

After a week or two of pestering, Dale and Karen said that they would be prepared to offer us one of their potential stud boys.

"Charaharra Niles Crane" is son of two champion Pugs and was going to be a stud at Charharra Kennels. In his one show he won Best Baby Puppy. Pugs from Charharra Kennels are highly sought after and the wait list is long. They breed for quality and their standards are very high. Whilst "Niles" was an excellent Pug he was not perfect so he would not join the Charharra breeding program. Not so good for them,  great for us and he is every bit the perfect pug in our family.

Niles was heading to Dieux Blancs. He was headed for a life hanging out with big dogs so the first step was to give him a big dog name, "Doug". Shortly after his arrival at Dieux Blancs, Doug was de-sexed. Don't tell him!

Doug fitted in very quickly with us here at Dieux Blancs and he and Stella have become great mates. Doug has a massive heart and big attitude and fits in very well with his White Shepherd buddies.  Doug loves the ladies and considers himself a bit of a ladies man.  He is definitely a hit with the female kind.

Doug has his own Myspace page and can be found regularly posting on Dogzonline. He is the self nominated Head Of Security at Dieux Blancs.

We are deeply indebted to Dale and Karen from Charharra for allowing us to bring Doug into our home.  We highly recommend Chaharra to anybody searching for the perfect Pug.
